News Crystal Serenity Returns To Service, Heralding A New Era Of Cruising

crystal serenity cruise ship

The 2023 refurbishment included a complete renovation of Crystal Serenity’s spa and fitness spaces. The new Aurōra Spa is named for the Goddess of the Dawn and offers sunrise-inspired treatments and therapies. These include massages, body treatments, and facials such as the 75-minute Chariot of Light massage and the Gold and Caviar Body Polish. There are also tech-enhanced options by Elemis designed to treat aging skin. Medi-Spa treatments are available as well and range from microneedling and fillers to acupuncture and IV Therapies designed to revive, re-energize, and flush out body toxins. Crystal has always had a reputation for offering some of the best dining at sea and its culinary program is now even more impressive.

DECK 12 AMENITIES

For more than three decades Crystal has been synonymous with exceptional, award-winning voyages. In 2022 A&K Travel Group acquired the Crystal brand and its two vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, ushering in a new era of Exceptional at Sea. The globally renowned cruise line offers discerning travelers’ industry-leading, authentic, and enriching experiences both onshore and at sea. With a legacy of unrivaled service and commitment to sophistication and elegance at every touchpoint, once on-board passengers feel as if they are perfectly at home. About 40% of the ship's accommodations (151 out of 377) are Sapphire Verandah Suites. Measuring a whopping 537 square feet including balcony space, these are unusually spacious suites for a main cabin category on a cruise ship.

Crystal Cruises' ships Serenity and Symphony in 2025 visit 281 ports/112 countries

But A&K, committed to keeping the returning guests happy, left some Sapphire Veranda Suites as they were — including the room Linda Glenn has booked since 2009. With an industry-leading space-to-guest ratio (1 to 93.1 cu. ft.) and nearly one staff member per guest, Crystal Serenity fosters endless opportunities for inspiration and enrichment, complemented by unparalleled service. Larger, redesigned suites, award-winning specialty dining restaurants and restorative public spaces further expose passengers to heightened experiences enroute to the world’s most sought-after destinations around the world. Originally built for 1,080 passengers, Crystal Serenity is now configured to hold just 740 passengers — even as the size of its public areas (lounges, bars, restaurants, etc.) hasn't changed.

Crystal Serenity cruise ship review: What to expect on this transformed luxury vessel

Following the dry-dock, Crystal Serenity offers to all its passengers free Wi-Fi (regardless of cabin category). In summer 2016, Crystal Serenity became the world's 3rd cruise ship with a Northwest Passage Cruise - after the 2013 voyages of Ponant's superyachts Le Soleal, and Le Boreal. Following the Coronavirus-related suspension of voyages, Crystal Ocean restarted passenger shipping operations with the Serenity ship. The Europe-UK program was entirely canceled and a new Caribbean program (July 3 through October 17, 2021) was planned.

Crystal Serenity Returns To Service, Heralding A New Era Of Cruising

The entertainment is low-key enough that you can maintain a conversation with your companions. Note that while unlimited dining at Waterside on Crystal Serenity is included in the fare, passengers only get to visit Umi Uma once per cruise for free for sailings of 11 days or fewer. For sailings of more than 11 days, two complimentary reservations are included. But what Crystal Serenity lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. The vessel has one main dining room and two main specialty restaurants that each are about as classy and upscale as you'll find at sea — all included in the fare.

Decks and Cabins

There are also several casual eateries in the vicinity of the main pool on the Lido Deck. Crystal Serenity's handful of bars and lounges also are classy and refined. The remaining 30% of accommodations include a handful of larger penthouse and junior penthouse suites, and roughly 100 smaller double and single rooms (more on these in a moment). Crystal Serenity is one of those cruise ships that draws loyalists who will sail again and again, even if the ship isn’t the newest or shiniest on the market. A lot of it comes down to the crew, which have a way of making their passengers feel right at home the moment they step onboard.

Smaller in scale and featuring a menu focused on Italian fine dining is 94-seat Osteria d’Ovidio. This venue, formerly known as Prego but re-imagined with chic, minimalist décor and renamed for Crystal owner Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, has a completely new menu. Don’t miss the melanzana (an eggplant confit with smoked tomato sauce), tortello di stracotto di manzo (tortello pasta filled with braised beef, fig vincotto, and gorgonzola) and agnello (lamb with sweet onion, balsamic vinegar, and sea asparagus). Four are specially designed Double Guest Rooms with Ocean View and four are Aquamarine Veranda Suites. Elevators are available to all public areas of the ship, from deck 5 to deck 13. While all Ocean View and Veranda guest room categories were refurbished in 2023, some suite categories were purposely not renovated, given their good condition.

It was the perfect base for a magical two days exploring the charming city, and was filled with other Crystal guests who had the same idea. Cruise lines no longer enforce most COVID-19 protocols and Crystal does not require guests to be vaccinated—unless a specific country on the itinerary requires it. Passengers are required to take part in a scheduled emergency drill on embarkation day that involves watching a video in their cabin detailing lifejacket and evacuation procedures before heading in-person to their designated muster station at a specific time.

Handicap (wheelchair-accessible) cabins for disabled passengers were 10. By the original design, of all Crystal Serenity cabins, 85% were with step-out balconies (108x Suites, 356x Balcony rooms), and the rest were Oceanview (80). Aquamarine Suites and above additionally have a walk-in closet, one-touch LED lighting and surround-sound system, Nespresso coffee machine, 2x binoculars (voyage-use only) and daily receive flowers and afternoon canapes. Complimentary are provided wine and spirits by the glass (from a fixed menu), soft drinks, fresh fruits (changed daily/upon request), pillow menu, unlimited WiFi, interactive tablet (for making reservations and for receiving ship-related news and updates).

Sapphire Suites and above are with 2x TVs and additionally enjoy complimentary dry cleaning (5x pieces + 1x bag free laundry every 10 cruise days) and pressing (5x pieces per day). The number of cabin categories is 7 (max capacity of guests per stateroom). ADA-certified/wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) are 8.

While the ship has been refurbished, it still is undeniably Crystal Serenity. For new fans, they’ll find a ship that is thoughtfully appointed, with a crew that is nearly as loyal to the line as its passengers. The people who work on Crystal Serenity love the brand and its guests, and it shows in the pride they take in doing their jobs and taking care of their guests. Enjoy fine-dining with a daily changing menu surrounded by sweeping ocean views.

Elegant modern white rattan sofas and chairs are sprinkled around under shading umbrellas. Among the major luxury lines, the original Crystal Cruises was always known for a stepped-up level of entertainment (it's long been a Crystal thing), and the new Crystal is no different. From the day of its relaunch, Crystal Serenity has been a ship that gets lively at night in a way that many luxury ships don't. Notably, Lefebvre d'Ovidio already has a series of restaurants on ships named after him, but not on Crystal or Silversea ships. Lefebvre d'Ovidio's friend Torstein Hagen, chairman of upscale cruise line Viking, has named the high-end Italian eateries on all of Viking's ocean ships Manfredi's in honor of him.

Additionally, on select nights, Stardust will open the doors for Supper Club for up to 116 guests to enjoy an evening show where they can dine and dance at the same time. Globally inspired cuisine, and casual dining, Tastes offers tapas-style cuisine inspired by regional itinerary. The venue encourages a "family-style" experience for guests to enjoy on their own or with newfound friends. The pool deck — in close proximity to the gelato bar – on deck 12 feels like a relaxed, exclusive Mediterranean beach club. One deck up, there’s a fitness center with Technogym equipment and workout classes, plus pickle ball and paddle tennis courts close by.

Our partners who list cruise pricing on Cruise Critic are required to provide prices for cruise only or cruise packages, per person, double occupancy, and are based on specific cabin types and sailing dates, and may not be available for all cabin types/sailings. When you book with one of our partners, please be sure to check their site for a full disclosure of all applicable fees as required by the U.S. The final stop on this fall-foliage voyage was Quebec City, and when I realized that the port is a five-minute walk away from Old Quebec, I decided to extend my trip and linger in the city.

Cruise News, Cruises, Cruise Ship, Travel Cruise Addicts

cruise forum

You can get all the info about the cruise line and about your chosen Disney hotel, and there’s a lot of useful information on getting the most out of your time at the parks. In its place, I’ve found the Cruise Community Forum, which is primarily aimed at Brits but does offer information on cruises and cruise lines all over the world. It has a more retro design but it is current, though there aren’t a huge number of active posters. The Cruise Lines sub-forums are also quite narrow in focus, only covering 8 of the bigger cruise lines. Notable absentees include any of the six-star luxury cruise lines, P&O Cruises, Virgin Voyages and any smaller cruise lines.

Cruising Business

The Tripadvisor site in general is a great place to find reviews of all kinds of attractions, accommodations and cruise lines, but they also have forums. The cruises forum is pretty active and has over 20,000 topics of discussion on all kinds of topics from cruising to travel agents and more. There’s a list of the top questions about cruising that people from the forum have answered, so you can browse those to see if the information you’re looking for is covered. And there’s also a section highlighting the top cruise experts from the forum, so you can browse their replies to other people. Some forums also have roll calls – dedicated threads to a particular sailing, where you can chat to other people who will be on the same cruise that you’ve booked.

Cruise Community Forum

cruise forum

At the time of writing, they have around 21 million posts just for roll calls alone, which is frankly staggering. They have another 25 million posts with questions about cruise lines in general. The biggest drawback is that there aren’t many sub-forums within this area to help make it easier to navigate.

China Cruise Shipping Event to Discuss Next Stage of Market.

Posted: Mon, 16 Oct 2023 07:00:00 GMT [source]

There’s a general forum for the cruise line, one for roll calls (called Meets) and one for trip reports, but that’s it. If you want to learn about a particular ship or restaurant, then you’ll need to search. The biggest drawback to Tripadvisor’s forum is that there’s very little organisation. With no sub-forums, you just instead have a long list of topics to browse through. There is a search bar, but that’s a little hit-and-miss when you want specific information about a subject. You can ask a general cruise question, or visit the sub-forums for cruise lines or destinations.

(See full list)

Forums are normally organised into sub-forums and then threads, which makes it easier to find what you’re looking for, with useful information grouped together. Specializing in ocean, river, ultra-luxury, small ship and expedition cruises. You can browse our list of Roll Calls, but you must be registered and logged in to read and post.

It’s a great way of learning more about the cruise from more experienced passengers or even making friends in advance, so you have a group you could dine with. If you want pure information or you want to use a roll call to find other passengers, then the Cruise Critic boards are pretty much unrivalled in terms of size. Dedicated forums for cruise lines can also help if your question is specific, or if you’re someone who’s just really passionate and loyal to one cruise line. One of the sub-forums is dedicated to Disney Cruise Line, and it’s also massive. It has over 5.8 million posts for you to browse already and a thriving community that you can engage with. Cruise Critic claims to be the originator of the roll call thread.

Cruising Message Boards / Cruise Forums

There are other sub-forums too, including those where new cruisers can have their questions answered, and those about particular destinations or special cruises. It’s a forum that’s best for the specifics though – not many places will have over 50,000 posts just on news and rumours about Royal Caribbean, or almost 35,000 just on dining. If you want to get into the finer details of Royal Caribbean, this is the place to do it. The Royal Caribbean Blog is an unofficial site dedicated to all things Royal Caribbean, and their forum – while not huge – is a great place to meet other people who love the cruise line. The only real downside to Cruise Critic is the scale of it – which could be a little overwhelming since there’s so much information. But, it’s well organised, and you should have no trouble finding people to chat to, though don’t expect a tight-knit community – it’s just too busy.

Forums

Be sure to join my email list for my best cruise tips and handpicked deals each week. This blog helps over a million people to plan their cruises each month. She has worked in the cruise industry since 2015 and has taken over 30 cruises.

Cruising

On the Cruise Critic message boards, that’s hard because there are so many users – you’ll get drowned out. There are a lot of different options for cruise forums, and depending on what you’re looking for, I would say that there’s not a single one I would recommend above all others. One of the benefits of r/Cruise is that it’s one of the easiest to follow from your phone. Most other forums don’t have an app, but Reddit’s app is one of the easiest to use, so you can monitor the latest posts and interact with cruisers on the go. If you know about Reddit already, you’ll know that it’s a massive site that has separate boards (called subreddits) about all kinds of topics. The benefit of DIS boards is that it’s a great place to get tips if you’re planning a cruise and stay holiday.

The destination sub-forums only cover Europe, Alaska & the Pacific Northwest, and the Caribbean. While these are the more popular cruise destinations for US travellers, there’s no mention of Asia or Australasia. But other people use forums to make online friends and enjoy a thriving community discussion.

While it’s a lot smaller in scale than Cruise Critic, you might find that you prefer the closer-knit community. In total, there are over 1.7 million posts on the site, so there’s still a lot of information. Cruise Addicts, founded in 1999, is one of our favorite cruise forums sites. Here you’ll find lots of active discussion boards, as well as videos tips and other information. Cruise forums are a great place to ask questions and share information directly with other cruisers. Usually organized by cruise lines, you can often get very specific information about details on a particular cruise ship from someone who has just sailed.

DIS boards is a massive community of Disney fans, with millions of posts to do with everything Disney, including resorts, theme park tips, news and more. I wanted to include a UK-specific cruise forum on this list, and previously, I had the Cruise.co.uk forum listed here, but by 2024, that’s now closed down. The travel agency still exists, but the forum has gone, which is a shame as it was the biggest UK forum for cruise with over 125,000 members.

There are other subreddits you could explore too, including r/RoyalCaribbean or r/CarnivalCruiseFans. If there’s a particular topic you want to know more about, just try searching Reddit, and you might find an entire subreddit dedicated to the answer.

Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays. For UK cruisers your best bet is the Cruise Community Forum, and I’d recommend a smaller site like Cruise Addicts for US-based cruise fans. These are great if you like the idea of getting involved regularly and chatting with others who share your love of cruising. It does seem to have a little more of that Tripadvisor vibe of negativity though – a quick glance shows that there are more topics related to complaints than on other forums. But, if you want tips on Royal Caribbean, then there are a quarter of a million posts to run through, and you can use the Roll Calls to find passengers on your upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise. Here's where you can discuss anything related to Carnival Cruise Line, including things like the latest news, questions and friendly chat about your upcoming cruise.

February 2023 Boobs Cruise Dates Temptation Cancun

cancun boob cruise

Those who aren’t keen on stripping down to their skivvies (or less) can take solace in the fact that only certain areas are topless-optional, specifically all pools, sundecks, and designated events. Appropriate attire is required in all dining facilities and other sections that are not clearly marked as topless-optional. If you are susceptible to seasickness we suggest you take Dramamine one hour before we leave and drink a ginger ale. The catamaran’s design makes it stable and the side-to-side rocking motion you experience with a single hulled boat is virtually non-existent.

If staying at other hotels you’ll need to make your own way to the Albatros Marina which has a clearly marked entrance from the street 200 yds past the Temptation Cancun Resort entrance towards downtown. Tell the staff at the Marina you are there for Steve’s boobs cruise, and they will direct you to the check in point. Due to Paypal charges  and currency conversion fees we’d lose 10% of your payment just in fees. We also use the balances paid on the day to pay our staff’s wages. Most of the people on the boobs cruise stay at Temptation Resort in Cancun and are members of our Temptation forum message board.

February 2023 Boobs Cruise Dates

We cruise the turquoise waters of the Caribbean between Cancun and the island of Isla Mujeres. They still hold those same initial ‘cancuncare values’ in providing honest, value for money tourism related services and advice. The Cancun forum that Steve was a member at became more and more toxic and suffered from poor moderation. The Cancuncare Forum still exists today although has gone through several iterations since those early days. Temptation Caribbean Cruise, a five-night voyage, will depart from Tampa in February 2020 and include calls in Mexico and Grand Cayman.

Is This For Lifestyle People Only?

One Friday night the group visited a night club called Dady Rock. Steve spotted a shy, 21 yr old, Mexican girl called Jannet sitting at a table with her friends and went over to talk. Our price is $135pp, the deposit is $55 with a balance to be paid on the day of $80pp. Feel free to invite friends you may meet once at the hotel. You do not need to be staying at Temptation to join us, but this cruise is adults (18+) only. If staying at other resorts you’ll need to make your own way by road to the Albatros Marina which is 200 yds past the resort entrance towards downtown.

Playmakers @ Temptation

Brace yourself for exhilarating theme nights, live performances, and energetic pool parties where DJs spin. Given the provocative nature onboard, the vessel will only welcome adults 21 and over. That said, no one is going to force anyone to do anything they don’t want to do. Refusing to go topless will make you stand out in the crowd though since you’ll be in a small minority. The famous Chinos heads up our famous entertainment staff and alongside Sara 69 and Omar, the crew will ensure that you have a great time and your drink is never empty.

After the deposit has been paid there is a balance payment of $80pp due on the morning of the cruise. In 1997 Steve, originally from the UK, visited Cancun with his best friend on holiday. They had such a good time they returned a year later, this time with 3 more friends. Temptation Cancun Resort, known for its adult-centric, topless-optional all-inclusives, announced that its hotel concept will now be hitting the high seas with the first-ever topless-optional cruise. It is best to pay the balance in USD cash, Pesos are accepted but are subject to the exchange rate at the time as determined by the boat operator.

We party all day with non stop music from our DJ and a rockin’ sound system that blasts all other boats out of the water. Operated by ourselves at CancunCare, open-minded adults from all over the world come together for fun and to let go of their inhibitions. This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks.

Temptation Grand Miches

On any given cruise we always have some lifestyle folks but many who are not. Experienced lifestyle couples  are almost always respectful and will not bother you if you are not interested. There are no group orgies, but do not be offended by topless ladies, nakedness from both sexes and adult humor.

Credit cards (VISA and MC only) are also accepted but will be subject to an extra charge of 5%. Also, by offering a better price online we encourage and reward early bookings. However, the price is more expensive if booked in the resort as we pay a commission to the sales agents. If you are staying at a different hotel you can still join the cruise. Just take a taxi or bus to Temptation Resort at KM 3.5 in the Hotel Zone and make your way to the adjacent Marina 200 yds past the hotel towards downtown.

At first, just a few pages of Cancun related information and some scanned in holiday pics of places they’d visited. In October 1998 Jannet visited England for 2 weeks and in the summer of 1999 Steve returned to Cancun for 2 weeks. This time by himself, to spend the entire time with Jannet.

The action you just performed triggered the security solution. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. Cancuncare was started with the aim of providing honest, straightforward advice about vacations in Cancun. Plus offering services that Jannet and Steve used themselves and were happy with. In August 2002 Steve decided to build a website about Cancun.

Scenic Eclipse Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review

Sadly, the self-serve coffee machine was often empty, and when it worked, the drinks tasted watered down. On January 31, 2018, was the ship's launch (float-out ceremony) at Uljanik Shipyard. The delivery was scheduled for August 31, 2018, but due to the shipyard's financial issues was rescheduled for April 13, 2019. How lovely to sit at a bar where someone pours 1er (Michel Forge Brut NV) and Grand Cru Champagne (Autréau Blanc de Blancs NV). These are smaller house bubbly, rather than luxe ship’s usual big-house offerings. You can snorkel in the tropical waters of Raja Ampat, marvel at a land filled with the rich history of Celts, Romans, and Vikings in Scotland, and take in the breathtaking beauty of Tahiti as we island hop through the Pacific Islands.

Scenic Eclipse yacht design

Designed as your own indulgent haven, each suite features stylish amenities and is incredibly spacious and range from 32sqm Verandah Suites to the 245sqm Two-Bedroom Owner’s Penthouse. Separate zones for sleeping and the lounge area are filled with natural light, thanks to floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening onto a verandah or terrace. Your butler will ensure everything is taken care of, from bringing your morning coffee to your suite, attending to your laundry, re-stocking your included mini-bar or delivering Champagne or cocktails. Scenic Eclipse is the first foray into ocean cruising for Australian company Scenic, long known for luxury tours and river ships.

The expedition staff worked hard to make sure that cruisers who were less mobile were able to have the best experience possible. Scenic Eclipse II is arranged around a center staircase, with passengers using seven of the 10 decks. The food venues and restaurants are clustered at the back of the ship on the different floors, while the theater, the spa, the Observation Lounge and the Bridge are at the front.

Scenic Eclipse Ocean Voyages

Restaurant wine lists also emphasize smaller vintners, with detailed bottle descriptions. Another suite plus was the unusual quietness; I didn’t hear any neighboring noise as can often happen on ships, even luxury ones. I spent much time on my balcony—so idyllic for soaking up views or ogling the sunset over flutes of bubbly.

The impressive selection of cuisines with up to 10 dining experiences and up to eight bars and lounges offers you a variety of choices that will satisfy your palate. Open galleys invite you to see first-hand the passion and expertise that goes into preparing every meal. Each dining venue features a menu reflecting the produce and region you are sailing in, and choices will be refreshed throughout your voyage. For example, all fares for Scenic's expedition voyages include a pre-cruise hotel stay. However, passengers expecting luxury (and with fares starting at $13,000 per person for a 10-day sailing, who wouldn't?) were disappointed.

Bars & Lounges

Check-in took a very long time, the rooms were fairly basic (at least I got one that wasn't already occupied, unlike some travelers) and the embarkation-day breakfast was a brown bag with an apple and yogurt. The balcony has an electronic blackout shade that lifts and lowers with the push of a button. It's immensely useful in polar regions, where you'll get 24 hours of light at times of the year. For travelers who like to cook their own meals, there's also a special kitchen where passengers can sign up to cook with the chef. They were allowed to be more social with passengers than on more mainstream vessels, which created an extra layer of personalization.

Fellow Passengers

The ship's 2 helicopters Airbus H130 (single-engine aircraft, each with capacity 7 passengers) can be booked/hired at extra charge. Also at an additional charge can be booked the ship's Triton submarine. The 9-person submarine (1 pilot plus 8 passengers) is named "Scenic Neptune" and is capable to submerge up to 660 ft (200 m). With the top-luxury expedition superyachts Eclipse 1 and Eclipse 2, Scenic Cruises and Tours (1987-founded river cruisetour company) entered the ocean-cruising market. The first boat (Eclipse 1) was launched in August 2018 and inaugurated in September 2019. The second vessel (Eclipse II) was scheduled for inauguration in 2020 but postponed to 2022-Q3 and eventually, to 2023 (April).

Other Scenic Yacht Cruises cruise ships

We found that while our butler was eager to take requests and replenished the bar without reminders, the service was more reactive than proactive. All requests were honored, but there weren't many of the special service touches like you find on the highest end luxury cruises. Like its older sibling, Scenic Eclipse, Scenic Eclipse II is one of the most stylish ships afloat today. With curved lines, two helicopters a submarine and a marina for water sports, the sleek 228-passenger ship looks like a large yacht owned by a James Bond villain.

Priority choice of shore excursions and VIP embarkation and disembarkation. Imagine returning from an exhilarating day of truly all-inclusive discovery excursions to your private sanctuary of your Spa Suite, with a steaming bath drawn by your butler. Gaze out over your verandah to the vistas beyond and sip on a glass of Champagne – heaven. With a premier location on the higher decks, Scenic's opulent Spa Suites range in size from 46-50m2 and featuring a four-poster king-size bed, separate lounge room as well as a private verandah, they are the perfect retreat after a day of discovery. Each Spa Suite accommodates a double-size Philippe Starck-designed Jacuzzi overlooking your private verandah, and separate oversized steam shower.

The spa is larger on Scenic Eclipse II than the first Scenic Eclipse, and it's impressive not just for a ship this size but for any expedition vessel. The thermal complex, open to all passengers, includes a sauna, a steam room, an ice corner to cool down, a salt therapy room with heated loungers and KLAFS infra-red sauna seats. These areas are segregated by gender, which can be annoying if you want to hang out with your opposite sex friend, partner or spouse, but gives Scenic Eclipse II more opportunity to take charters. But don't let the ship's good looks and fancy extras fool you; Scenic Eclipse II is a powerhouse when it comes to expedition cruising.

They feature spa baths and offer space to relax and views from the veranda. I've just disembarked my first-ever expedition cruise, an 11-day voyage to the Arctic, and I'm in love. Not just with the stunning scenery and cute animals, but with this ship which, like the polar bears we watched from its observation decks, commands respect because it's built to survive the terrain and is fully capable of doing so.

The ship was initially scheduled for delivery in August 2018, but due to construction issues was first rescheduled for January, then for April 2019. In February 2018, the shipowner Scenic Group (aka Scenic Tours Australia) signed a shipbuilding contract for the second (same-design) vessel - Scenic Eclipse II. The sistership was scheduled for delivery in 2020 but was eventually postponed to 2023 April. In 2019, the expedition cruise world was abuzz over the 228-passenger, all-suite Scenic Eclipse launch. This ultra-luxe polar ice-class ship resembles a yacht, yet still possesses all the right adventure toys, like helicopters, a submarine, Zodiacs, and kayaks.

scenic eclipse cruise ship

Lumière, a contemporary and sophisticated French restaurant, also won my heart (and stomach). The onion soup with double oxtail wagyu beef consommé, and grilled duck breast with leg confit, are standouts. The impressive selection of cuisines, dining experiences, and bars offer you a variety of choices that will satisfy your palate. Each dining venue features a menu reflecting the produce and region you’re sailing in, and choices will be refreshed throughout your voyage. Guests can be entertained in the 240-seat theatre that offers programmes and lectures by an onboard discovery team. The team, which includes dedicated Antarctic and Arctic experts in their fields, keep guests updated with a range of subjects and interests.

Besides Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours, the shipowner Scenic Group also owns the subsidiary and travel brand Emerald Cruises. Applause, also, to the Yacht Club, for casual breakfasts and lunches big on flavor and healthy ingredients. Since I’ve been onboard, the indoor pool was (rightfully) removed from the area, creating more lounging space, both inside and out. I often wandered into the all-day Azure Bar & Café for a macaron or barista-made espresso.

Deck eight is equipped with a helipad and hangars, as well as guest suites. The ninth deck has a helicopter hangar, spa and penthouse suites, while deck ten features a sun terrace. The first deck houses mud rooms for easy zodiac entry, tender entrance and a self-service guest laundry.

Porn Star Carter Cruise Discusses Life In The Spotlight And Future Goals News

The 168 LGBTQ+ passengers on the Amadeus Nova will begin their Prague and Danube River Cruise with a two-night hotel stay in Prague. The seven-night cruise will then depart from Passau toward Budapest, for its adventure through Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, revealing historic sites and riverside charm – not to mention world-class wine. This is your chance to get up close and personal with Alaska's stunning natural scenery, indigenous culture and the freshest seafood you can find.

If you really feel like indulging, consider renting a cabana or beach villa, though there are plenty of shady spots to sit in the sand for free along with the proletariat. Cruising has long been one of the most LGBTQ-plus-friendly forms of travel. While almost all mainstream cruise lines cater to gay and lesbian travelers, there are also dedicated lesbian cruises and gay cruises for every taste and budget. The concept of an exclusive, all-gay chartered cruise on a major cruise line was a groundbreaking concept when RSVP Vacations organized its first such cruise, setting sail in 1986 voyage with 750 guests. Almost untouched by time, the Galapagos is one of the world's most incredible destinations -- and one that can only truly be discovered by ship.

It is very common for all-gay charters and the LGBTQ groups to plan cruises to these destinations. An all-gay cruise differs from a standard cruise on a few important fronts. Obviously, the fact that nearly all of the passengers are gay is the most significant factor. This can be very appealing for passengers worried about encountering homophobia when they're spending money to relax, or those who simply enjoy the idea of being with fellow travelers of a familiar community. Maebh had only ever been snorkeling off the coast of Ireland, so I felt she owed herself a day of Caribbean snorkeling.

Over the years, Olivia put out more than 40 albums (and rejected artists like Yoko Ono and Melissa Etheridge), in the late '80's, the company decided to refocus its efforts on cruises and vacation packages for lesbians. It is important to note that in some cases an LGBTQ social might be listed as a "Friends of Dorothy" meeting. These socials are typically cocktail receptions held in one of the ship's bars or lounges. Notice of such events is usually posted in the daily cruise program available onboard. With larger groups, the tour operator will typically include some unique entertainment just for the group participants. For the most part, however, the cruise experience for passengers opting to go with a group and not a full-ship charter is similar to that of the any other commercially-available sailing.

Ports include Puerto Caldera, Quepos and Puerto Jimenez in Costa Rica; and Isla Parida, Fuerte Amador, the Panama Canal and Colon in Panama. On the other side of the cruise coin, some ports of call can be notably hostile towards LGBTQ travelers. There is real danger of violence or legal prosecution not faced by mainstream passengers disembarking at these ports. This is particularly true among certain parts of the Caribbean, the Middle East, Russia, and in ports in Southern and Southeast Asia. From beautiful Caribbean islands to historic European cities, cruise lines specifically pick their ports of call because they are generally safe and welcoming places that cruise passengers want to explore.

If you only have a day in Curacao, this is a nice, easily accessible place to eat, drink and swim during the day, and party in the evening when the D.J.'s show up. Join over 700 OUTbounders in taking over the swish Azamara Pursuit as you ply the glittering waters of the Adriatic, Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas. We were eating, shaded by covered picnic tables, fluffy feral chicks nibbling at our crumbs beneath the table, when Maebh's attention was piqued. It was a steel drum version of "Don't Stop Believin'," and what could be a more quintessential Caribbean cruise anthem? We grabbed our food and relocated to the Captain on the Rocks Island Bar, where a five-piece Caribbean-esque band sang standard wedding-band fare while we downed rum punches.

This 5,200-strong cruise travels south to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, and back over seven nights aboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas. They also offered a variety of massages, facials, hair and nail treatments. The cruise line's brochure boasted that the room had a tabletop "in-room water feature," which sounded ludicrously fancy, but it was slightly disappointing in reality and only worked for the first day. Other exciting perks were the fluffy bathrobes, the iPod dock and the flat screen TV with a menu of DVD's that we could have delivered to the room. The main attraction of our cabin was a nice-sized verandah that overlooked the Caribbean Sea. Our stateroom had a comfy queen bed and sitting area with a love seat and coffee table, making good use of the small space.
